Photo advice!

Makayla, on July 8, 2020 at 10:04 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 12
I’m needing some advice on photos!

So, I’m not going to see my fiancé until I walk down the aisle so our photos will be almost directly after the ceremony. Does anyone have any tips on what to do for our guests so they aren’t just waiting around forever for us to get back inside?!

Usually this is when cocktail hour & hors d'oeuvres are scheduled.

We did a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres and a magic mirror photo booth.

Cocktail hour. I would take your photos with the bridesmaids and have your fiancé take his with groomsmen before the ceremony though to limit how many you have to take afterwards. Then you can just do a big group shot after the ceremony.

I'm not doing a first look either! I want the magic of my FW seeing me for the first time as I walk down the aisle. I was at first really bummed about missing cocktail hour, especially since I've been to a few that were quite boring. (Bar bar, bad music xD) We're having a rustic barn wedding and we're going to include a corn hole set up and a large game of tic tac toe on one of the tables for those who want to part take. (: My fiance and I are very into games, be it cornhole, card games, sports, etc.

We will actually do the same thing... after the ceremony we will go outside and take pictures while our guests wait and we then will start the open bar.

I would also recommend taking separate bridal party photos and any photos you want of just you with certain family and just him with certain family before the family. Then after the ceremony, you'd take full bridal party photos, full family photos, and photos of just the two of you. By doing some photos prior to the ceremony, this will cut down on time spent taking photos during cocktail hour.

Yep, what everyone said is true, usually guests go to cocktail hour after the ceremony and that’s when you would take pictures. Mind you, you may not be apart of cocktail hour since you’re waiting to do most if not all pictures during that time.
