I came across this article about how guests using their phones can take away from the bride, the ceremony and the photographer. Thought it would be an interesting read.

This is why most people have an unplugged ceremony.

That's why I dont want my people to take pictures during the ceremony. I went to a wedding where the priest told everyone to get their phones out and get ready to take a picture of their first kiss. I was like that's why they have a photographer for. Plus like the photographer wrote, what are they going to use the picture for? I just dont want anyone ruining my pictures.

We will have a sign that says “Please let the hired help get those pictures! Keep phones out of aisle.” And “Please refrain from posting any photos for the next 48hrs.the bride wants to be the First one to share Her big news!”( FH not on social media)

We are not having a sign, because I don’t like signs at weddings.

Our officiant will say something and our wedding website/app will push all guests a text asking them to silence and put away their phones! We also have something about it on the website and in addition we’re also asking that nobody share pictures of us online until we have gotten to. We also won’t have a Snapchat filter or hashtag because I have a few unwanted guests who may show up if they find out the location

I've told my photographer she has every right to call out those who do this during the ceremony.
