It's a good idea in principal but I don't think we can really control what people do and if they use their phones or not.

I don't think I'll be worried about it while I'm walking down the aisle myself.

We're going to attempt an unplugged ceremony by having our officiant announce it and maybe a sign. Unfortunately, there's only one person that we're aiming this for and we're 100% sure they won't honor our request since she hasn't in past weddings. She's the 'standing or kneeling in the aisle' to get a crappy phone photo girl and it sucks.

I put it at the bottom of my wedding program "Please no cell phones during the ceremony"

Time and place....that ain't the time or place for people playing with their precious phones. Do they do that on a job interview or in church? Yes, unplugged.

I will be having an unplugged ceremony. I'm not paying my photographer loads of money for the shots to be filled with phones and I want my guests to enjoy being in the moment and not feeling the need to capture it. But I'm allowing phones after that.
