Philadelphia Wedding Venue that allows outside caterers

Amanda, on August 31, 2011 at 7:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

Hi everyone - my fiance and I are looking for an affordable venue in or around Philadelphia that will allow us to bring in our own caterer (my fiance is a chef, so we are using his restaurant as the caterer, and we have the catering insurance). We've looked at Merion Tribute (love it, don't love the price), Bolingbroke, Ridley Creek, and the Saturday Club. If all else fails, we'll probably have it at Merion but I'd love to find something cheaper than $4600. I would really appreciate any suggestions or ideas!! I'm beginning to feel discouraged Smiley sad

What about Pearl S. Buck Estate? Looks like they do open catering and they have a gorgeous space. Also - if you're open to it, check out Fridays. We are getting married at the Fonthill Castle and got an amazing deal for a Friday night. Some venues don't knock much off the price, but if you ask for it specifically they might. I also feel like I realized too late in the planning game to realize you can totally try to bargain!! Good luck Smiley smile

Thank you Brea for your suggestion - I had not even thought of negotiating! I did just check out Pearl S. Buck Estate, but unfortunately they appear to be booked on the day we want. I will try out my negotiation skills on Merion, and after sleeping on it I feel the strength to continue my search!
