I would get the petticoat. It spreads out the skirt so you can see the lace, which is so pretty.

Adding the Petticoat is economical than adding the volume on the dress. Your dress will look great with volume.

Yes, get a petticoat intended for your trumpet shaped skirt. And do not let a clerk have you try on mermaid peticoat, which many seem to think is the same thing. Your gentle rather than sudden flare skirt, starts on the lower thigh, well above the knee. And over and over I have found people coming to me or my friends for alterations with petticoats not from gown places. They don't need alterations. Their gown hangs funny at the bottom because their petticoat does not flare til the calf ( mermaid) . This dress would look nice with either a small or medium amount of ruffling , and soft or fairly stiff netting. Try both. They can give very different proportions to your figure, and you want the most flattering.

Yes, I would. I have a similar dress and it looked so much prettier with a petticoat. Getting into my dress with the petticoat on is a whole other story lol.

Oh wow I didnt know my dress style was trumpet. On the bridal stores website it says its fit and flair and the lady at the bridal store said its fish tale. I googled examples and it looks like a trumpet. Thanks for that. I'll make sure to get a petticoat for a trumpet style dress . Thanks so much
