Mine was chiffon. I almost went for tulle but was worried it'd snag and rip since we did ours outside. Which was great since I stepped on my dress probably 50 times! lol

I always recommend trying on an assortment of styles to see what would look best for you, for example, I thought an A-line would look great on me, but I tried one on, and I looked like I had gained 20 pounds. Then I tried on one trumpet style gown and the rest was history.

Definitely keep an open mind. If you put something on and hate it immediately you don’t have to even leave the dressing room.
And I agree, put wedding dresses on all different bodies because brides have all different bodies!

I am 5’3” and I had a sheath turned in to a mermaid because when you are short and curvy, a sheath will hit you at your widest points and not show your tiny waist. Don’t let anyone tell you that certain dresses aren’t for your shape/frame. Try it ALL! We are all unique in our shapes and just because we are short doesn’t mean we don’t have the proportions to pull off anything we want! Pay attention to dresses that say “appliqué applied in areas to enhance the female shape” or anything similar to that wording. I bought a dress that said this in its description and where the appliqué was placed was definitely for an average or tall girl. I had to pay a pretty penny to have them moved to suit my smaller frame.

I’m 5’2 and I had a very particular dress in mind. Since I’m so short and a little curvy, I always told myself I needed something super flowy. I tried on one fitted dress and I was sold. You never know what you’re going to like until you try it. I’ve never worn a fitted dress in my life so I was shocked. Let your body pick your dress for you!

Thank you ladies for all of your help and showing me petite brides can wear all types of dresses. You all look beautiful. My dress came in last month. I went with a mermaid silhouette. I am 5 feet even. I had no shoes on in the last two pictures. Here’s a picture of the day I tried on the sample dress and on and the day I picked up My dress.
