Personal Invitations or Online Invitations?

Mrscase2022, on May 27, 2019 at 9:15 AM Posted in Planning 0 15
Ordering wedding invitations from online like vistaprint or minted or another place but I’ve also thought about getting personal invitations created? I’m concerned that if I order online and something is incorrect where is if I order personal made ones all the information will be correct.

    What is a “personal” invite?

I mean, both options are only as accurate as you are at giving information.
I ordered ours through basicinvite and paid the extra $20 to have them proofread and make sure everything looked correct.

You’re wanting to do either mail invites or email invites? Is that correct?

I ordered mine from Ann's Bridal Bargain and I was able to look at a proof and have them fix it. It was either no charge or an extra $5 or something. Definitely nothing major to get the proofs.

I'm having custom invitations made from The Painted Papier on Etsy for our Christmas elopement/wedding. She is so talented. Then for our wedding announcement and invite to our wedding reception, we are using Minted. As long as the online order is proofed, they will be perfect. We have local places that have gorgeous invitations, but the prices were ridiculous. I believe in buying local if possible, but not for something that 99% of our guests will throw away.

We got ours from Vistaprint. You proofread the things before finalizing the order, and you have to do that in a shop as well. At the end of the day, it's really on you to make sure that all the information and spelling you provide is correct, no matter what.

We did very well with a traditional local printer. Not a computer printer, a traditional print set up, though the shop has both. We had a fairly formal wedding, so we wanted engraved and embossed borders and print. It was great to see and touch samples going through pattern books, choosing fonts, border pattern, what part of the design to have raised. They were elegant, competitively priced, and since they were local, we picked them up 2 days later.

Printers can mess up whether they come from an online company, or a corner stationery store. The nice thing about some of these online companies, is I've heard about mistakes, and most of the time the company takes care of it, often at no extra charge to the customer. Look into each company's policy on mistakes/returns/exchanges. I bet most have some kind of policy. I haven't ordered any of my invites yet, so I don't really know. This is just from reading stories on the forums.

Btw, every invite is essentially "custom" since you are adding all of the information related to your wedding. You're not buying something already created.
