Period

Jennifer, on February 3, 2020 at 10:10 AM Posted in Community Conversations 1 9
So my period tracker is saying that I should be starting my period the day before my wedding 😭😭. Is there any other way to skip your period or get it to come sooner/later other than birth control? We are going to be trying for our second baby right after we get married so I don’t want to start birth control. I know if it does come on my wedding day it will be okay and I’ll make the best of it but I’d prefer to not be bloated and crampy 😭

Birth control is the only way to schedule your periods.

No, not really. Your cycle is based on hormones, you would need to use hormones such as birth control to alter your cycle.

I've heard of ways people induce periods but i don't think they're a guarantee or scientifically proven

Try not to stress about it! Anything could happen between now and then. All you need is to be early or late one month and it’ll throw off that whole prediction.

I got my period literally during my bridal shower lol, honestly I was so distracted and running on adrenaline that I barely felt anything (after I took an ibuprofen) and I usually have AWFUL cramps. You’ll be so happy on your wedding day you probably will forget your even have it.

I just checked my tracker and it says I should be starting on my wedding! 😳 typically my period is stress induced.

No real advice, but I'm following as I'm worried this will happen to me too. My period isn't super regular, so a few days off here or there between now and my wedding could place in on my wedding day.

I tend to skip or delay my period only when there is some sort of trauma, so for example, if I have a major injury or illness, or if I change my routine a lot and my sleep, exercise, eating patterns are thrown off. None of these are things I'd recommend doing to yourself in an attempt to get your period to skip your wedding.

Just make sure you drink a lot of fluid, avoid excess salt and junk foods, and stay active leading up to your wedding as that will help bloating and cramping. If you do end up needing to take any sort of medication during your period for cramps or discomfort avoid anything processed by your liver and be careful if you are planning to consume any alcohol at your event.

Fingers crossed for you (and all the other brides out there)!

Honestly, my period was WAY off cycle the whole time of planning the wedding, because of stress. I ended up going late a few months (and having a Minute), and then being SUPER EARLY some months (and being really ticked off about it), and it only just started to settle down again (and now I hope I don't have it at all.... ahem).

Honestly, at this point, maybe just start trying now... you might get lucky and only be a few weeks in... but certainly no period!

My period tracker said I'd be starting my period on my wedding day. But i started a day late this time so now its day after. So much can happen from now till my wedding I'm trying not to stress.
