Period...lovely😒

on September 28, 2019 at 9:23 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 15
Hi there! I’m getting married in a month, and I think I’m going to get my period around then!😒 I would’ve planned better for this, but my cycle has always been out of wack, and really difficult to predict. I used to be on BC, but I’ve tried several, and they’ve affected me in weird/less than ideals ways. I don’t mind temporarily going back on for the sake of my wedding day/honeymoon, but I’m thinking it’s too late for me to do that. Any lovely ladies in my same boat? If so, any advice for me? I’d LOVE to postpone my period for a bit. I’ve heard of natural remedies for this, but I haven’t heard of anyone actually doing them haha.

And I know it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I was on my period for my wedding/honeymoon. Either way, it’s going to be an amazing day. Buuuut, I’d just rather not have to deal with it😂

Oh no, I completely understand your frustration with this. I've been so worried about being on my period for the wedding as well. I plan on bringing extra tampons and panty liners and ibuprofen. Crossing my fingers and praying I'm not on mine for the big day.

Omg! Me too! My cycle came about 5 days early so if it now stays on track smack dab in the middle of the wedding honeymoon 🤦🏼‍♀️My only hope is it comes 5 days early again.... 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I'm on an every 3 month schedule to reduce migraines. You just take bc continously skipping the reminder pills. I counted up and planned my period so that I would be early ib the 90 days. It can take a month or two for your body to adjust but I think I just spotted the first month and my body quickly adjusted. Its very convenient. Talk to your doctor about the issues you had before and they can probably do a low dose version. Otherwise maybe a menstrual cup?

I was in a similar boat as you, I stopped taking birth control about 3 months ago because it was giving me terrible side effects. I thought if I continued my regular cycle I'd have it for my wedding. I dont really have any advice as I was just going to let it be and deal with it if I had to. I'm getting married on Friday 10/4 and I just got my period yesterday so it should be all gone and fine by the wedding day so it worked out 🤞

I was lucky to get mine where it ended by my wedding day but I am for sure one of those that gets it out of wack. I get a period once a month but I'm not positive when it'd come aha. So those natural remedies you've heard of the one I hear most I'd vitamin c would induce it. Not sure how much it works though

I was afraid mine was going to be right in the middle of my wedding and starting looking into different options and found Flex (disposal menstrual disc) since I didn’t want to worry about accidents or running to the bathroom every couple hours. Thankfully I didn’t end of needing it but that’s what I was looking at. Take some midol and water pills for the bloating. Good luck girl!

Also, if you’re looking for natural ways (mine fluctuates a lot) working out makes mine pretty short and it’s true you can sync up with other girls. I’ve heard about apple cider vinegar, I happen to drink it almost every day (I have a fat burner drink I make) so try adding that to your diet. Mine are pretty short, 3 days max

Can’t help with remedies but at first my period was “scheduled” to start an entire week after my wedding.
Then the month before it came a entire week early! With put it starting the day after my wedding. I was prepared I had a box of pads and tampons and ibprophen. Well because I was so stressed it didn’t start until 2 weeks after my wedding, a week after when it should have came any way.
FYI my cycles are pretty wonky too. Even if aunt flo crashes the party, the day will still be unforgettable and you will enjoy your day!

A menstrual cup is where it’s at! 12 hours of not having to worry about it! Also if you google side effects of licorice tea, the first result is absence of a menstrual period.... not saying this is a good thing, but desperate times call for desperate measures lol

Interesting... I've been sick so drinking a lot of emergency and I got mine. I wonder if it made it come a little earlier which worked out in my favor!

I started using a cup a few months ago so I had time to get the hang of it before the wedding should I need it. It lasts all day (even with my insane flow the first few days) so I won't need to worry about leakage or trying to change it. I also have a pair of Thinx panties I am going to wear (I know, super sexy lol) but I've used them as "backup" incase of a pesky leak and they have been AMAZING!

You can speak with your gyno, and depending on your situation she may be willing to prescribe a few progesterone pills which will delay your period. Mine is due to come the exact day of my wedding( I am clockwork), and it is ROUGH the first couple days, so my gyno gave me a prescription of 10 pills to delay it. Still a little up in the air on whether I will use it, but it's an option.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and ideas! Definitely going to try a diva cup or something along those lines, and I’m absolutely going to reach out to my gyno for some more assistance. It’s just really great to hear that a lot of us are either in the same boat, or are trying to be cautious about it either way. I didn’t even really start thinking about it until recently, and then I immediately started to freak out😂😂😂

    thanks again!!
