Pens

Kate, on August 4, 2018 at 10:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
So I'm doing the Polaroid guest table and I want to find colorful pens for guest to sign after they've taken the pictures. I need opinions on what type of pen. Amazon has these metallic marker pens and then hobby lobby has these gel pens! Idk what works better on black cardstock paper

Also, do they need to tape them down? Will that work? Or will they need to later be glued. I added a picture of the guest book idea too. Seems like they taped. Any advice on how to execute this idea, let me know !

I hate gel pens because i write with a certain strength on the paper and it always smudges! Id just get an ultra fine permanent sharpie 😊
For the book, you could buy clear picture corners and pre arrange them on the book so that peoole can just put their pics in!

That's so smart about the picture corners. Is that what they're called? I feel like that's a great idea, I'm going to look them up

I think the correct term is "photo corners"! Theres a wide variety on Amazon. They come in sheets, rolls, clear, in color...
    Theres something for everyone!

I like the option of the second photo of the pens. It looks like they'll show up well.

When my friend did a photo booth guest book, they had glue sticks for people to use to stick the photos in the book.

I would be so nervous the picture wouldn't sit flat and would want to peel up with a plan glue stick. Did they lay fine?

We are doing the same guestbook. We made it so our pages are black, and we got silver and gold permanent markers for our guests to write with. We got glue sticks to use.

I’d get sharpies because they reliably write on most surfaces, especially if buying online, where you can’t test them. I haven’t had good luck with gel pens. For the book, how about putting in photo corners, so they can slot them in. Like this! http://thecreativecubby.blogspot.com/2012/09/polaroid-wedding-guest-book_8.html?m=1

I would recommend the metallic markers, I don't know if gel pens would show up on black paper Smiley smile
I also agree with the above comment about the photo corners, I think those would help keep things easier for everyone!

We're doing the same thing but got a book with white pages. I'm still trying to figure out what pens/markers to use. I'm torn between ultra fine sharpies and gel pens. Going to try out both and see which ones I like better.

As far as putting the pictures in the book, we are putting out several rolls of pretty washi tape that I got to match our wedding theme. I wanted the pictures to be put in randomly so I decided to do washi tape instead of the prearranged photo corners. (The example photo you posted used washi tape also.)
