Pens for wood

Miranda , on October 1, 2019 at 6:51 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6
My fiancé and I have a wooden sign that we’ll be using as our guestbook. Does anyone have any recommendations on what pens to use?

It depends on if the wood is sealed or not. We are using a whiskey barrel lid and we're waiting to seal it until after it's signed. We tried out different pens and found that Sharpie oil based paint pens worked best for us. If it's already sealed, oil based probably isn't the best option.

Yes it depends on what finish it has. If you bought it from someone they should be able to recommend exactly what to use (at least that’s what the person did for me). My vendor even gave me a small piece of wood to rest pens and colors options on.

I can't remember the name but we took a sample piece to AC Moore and found pens that hold their color on the wood without bleeding. They're packed up for the transfer to the venue but it should be easy to find if you have a piece of wood that matches your guest book.
