Pennsylvania Bride 4/11/2021

Hello My Fellow Brides,

Anyone else out there getting married in March or April in PA? We have had to postpone from November 2020 and now are getting married at Ellis Preserve on 4/11. We are so excited but with restrictions still at 10% it is not looking good for our capacity options. How are you guys handling this? Also, we sent our change the dates to 150 people, new evites through greenvelope (which was amazing btw) to 50 people so when do you think we should send out our "im sorry but capacity hasnt opened email?" We were holding out hope till 3/11 but should i just put this to bed?

I feel so frustrated but also excited! I started a petition and have been in touch with so many folks from the DOH to govt officials because it just isnt fair that NY and NJ can open for 150 and PA cant however everyone is saying there is literally no push for events to open and no intention of it. Phew ok end rant lol!! thoughts??

I am not to far after and holding onto hope. I don’t understand either why neighboring states are allowing. It should follow restaurants or at least half to 25% in my opinion. I don’t know what to do either. The numbers are going down and vaccines going up, don’t understand why occupancy can’t. Who are you hearing that they don’t want to budge from?

I had to postpone my wedding from August, 2020 to April 11, 2020. I had concerns about my wedding on my new date. I called my venue in reference to occupancy and they have allotted for a certain number of guests to attend. They are keeping up to date with the rules and regulations as they are changing due to Covid-19. Considering the amount of guests that we have invited, we realize that not everyone is going to attend the wedding. Therefore, we should or might be in the range of occupancy that they (venue) has allotted for us to have. Keep in touch with your venue and see how they are handling your wedding, occupancy and following the guidelines.

Hi Meghan what venue are you? I have been in touch with SO many people! Everyone from the PA of Gov Wolf to the DOH and everyone says it is not on the radar. I am so upset by the neighboring states having different rules as well! I have been in touch with a woman, Representative O’Mara from Delco that has been pretty helpful thus far in asking the local to them questions. Also, I started a change.org petition if you’re interested in signing in sharing just search change.org for “Pennsylvania occupancy limit” and share with EVERYONE. So far I’m over 200 signs in 2 days.

Hi date twin. My venue allowing up to 75 guests but originally had 100 guests on my list. Again, my guest list maybe less bc everyone may not come due to Covid. I will know how many guests I will have when I send out my invitations. My venue is 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia. I am sure why it is different as far as occupancy with venues (maybe location).

Thanks. I have signed. I really wish there was some relief, I also have a significant amount fully vaccinated but that doesn’t seem to even matter. I feel like we are doing so much better but yet PA has not budged and I see soo many restaurants well over 50% or no masks.

I felt the exact same way. The restaurants being at 50% now really was the straw that broke the camels back for me. So I did the petition to get some sort of stamina going because all of the hoping and wishing without action wasn’t getting me anywhere. Despite all of this.... I truly am having the wedding of my dreams and am marrying the man I’ve waited for my entire life (I know you’ve heard this a million times and it’s frustrating lol) so one day at a time!! And share share share the petition

What has your venue said in regards to the number of guests you may have? We are getting married May 22, 2021 and our venue is allowing us to have up to 100 guests which is 50% percent of their capacity. I definitely agree that the guidelines/restrictions are frustrating, confusing, and seem to be interpreted differently depending on who you talk to. Good luck with your petition. I definitely check it out.

Just in case anyone didn't see this, I'ma leave this here...

    https://www.governor.pa.gov/newsroom/gov-wolf-effective-april-4-more-options-for-restaurants-and-other-businesses-mass-gathering-maximums-increase/

It's progress! I'm a May 22 Bride and we just decided to switch venues because our first choice wasn't able to work with us on outdoor options. They did offer to refund us given the situation so hopefully the transition is smooth.
