This place is absolutely gorgeous!!!! We are getting married in Newport Beach as well, but on one of the private yachts that sail through the harbor at sunset. That area is absolutely amazing!

How exciting Janelle! OC weddings are no joke. I'll be getting married in Newport Beach but my dream venue that I fell in love with is in Huntington Beach and would have been at least an extra $25,000 and on a Sunday instead of Saturday. Good luck!

@Diana where in Huntington were you looking? Where did you end up booking in Newport? Normally newport is a but more expensive, so I am interested to hear what you ended up with.

In the very beginning my FMIL tried to get us to consider Pelican Hill. It is pretty but it's just soooo not us (style wise) or what we wanted. She has very expensive taste, and yes she's contributing a lot to our wedding but it would have had to be like double her contribution if we had gone there.

Also definitely keep in mind tax and service charge, our service charge is also 22% and it really makes a huge difference.

@714HBBride I was pretty set on hotel venues because I like convenience of being able to do everything in one place and being able to use their services/supplies. I really liked the Hyatt Regency Resort in Huntington Beach but ended up with the Fairmont in Newport Beach because of budget/outside vendor flexibility.

@Diana, I looked at Hyatt Regency, too. Ended up with a different hotel in Huntington... It was lovely but I couldn't swing it. Fairmont is gorgeous, too. Your wedding is going to be awesome!

Looked into Pelican and it was out of our budget. We went with Alta Vista Country Club in Placentia and have a great price and everything we wanted.
