Pear shaped ring - upside down or right side up?

Trish, on March 5, 2018 at 8:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 23
My e-ring is a gorgeous pear shape. I wear it with the point facing toward my fingernails, but I recently saw a post online that it's supposed to be the other way with the point facing my wrist. It just looks weird and upside down to me. Anyone else with a pear shape? How do you wear yours?

I’m sure you can wear it either way, but I prefer it the first picture.

I prefer it pointing towards your fingertips, but idk what the “correct way” is.

I like it pointing toward your fingertips. It looks kind of awkward the other way.

Thank you all! That's what I thought too but I didn't want to be wearing it "wrong". I guess it doesn't matter because I like it that way too!

I am unaware of a right or wrong way, but I agree with you. I personally feel it looks better pointing towards your fingers than towards your wrist.

Gorgeous ring! I think it looks best with the point towards your fingers. The other way around doesn’t look balanced right to me, but you should wear yours however you like it!

Thanks! I'll keep wearing it the way I like it. I probably would have anyways even if it was technically wrong. Lol!

I think it can go either way, but I prefer the way you have it. Plus, when you think about it, it's called a pear or a teardrop. Both a pear and a teardrop are pointy towards the top, not the bottom. Smiley smile

Beautiful ring! I prefer it pointed out tbh. Pointed the other way looks strange to me.

Okay so here's the deal: technically there is no wrong way. BUT When you wear the ring with the point towards your fingertips, you are viewing it the "right" direction for that shape...however, this means that when you show your hand to someone else, unless you hold your hand upright and palm facing you, they are then viewing the ring "upside down" with the point going down. That's it. That's why people say to turn it the other way. But I feel like you are the one who will be seeing it all the time so wear it however t.f. you like!Smiley sexy

Always up is what I’ve been told because wearing it down symbolizes a tear drops and you don’t want tears throughout your marriage. - My Grandma ❤️

The jeweler told my fh that when you are engaged the point faces you, and when you get married you turn it away from you. 🤷‍♀️

I like to wear mine, pointing toward the finger nail as well🥰 of course they say that the tip is supposed to point toward your heart because that your heart crying that your freedom is gone. I’m just kidding.😂 It just looks good to others because they can see the actual teardrop but you are the one wearing it so you wear it how you want to because it’s not what others like it’s what you like.❤️

Doesn't matter. I see a lot point up but my sister has one and her point is down. Whatever your preferences. It'll be upside down to either you or to someone you show when turning your hand.
