peak season

AZALEA, on December 15, 2015 at 1:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

What months are peak and off season in Arizona? I just got engaged last month and I really want to do our wedding in the month of September but I'm not sure if this month is peak or off. I will really appreciate the help ?

I'm not sure about Arizona in particular, but if you look at venue pricing, you should get a good idea fairly quickly. Peak times tend to be more expensive. Also, generally think of when your area has its worst weather, that will probably be an off peak time.

Lots of venues have pricing based on time of year. They list two or three prices depending on time of year.

Where I live peak is May through Sept. September is actually the 2nd most popular month after June! So it could be pricey.

    October through April were cheaper.

This is hard, to pick a date/month... we want to pick a month that it's off, that way it could be cheaper for us.

Hi Azalea! I'm guessing June-September in Arizona would be "off-peak" season due to how hot it is, but you'll really need to ask around with venues!

You can look at the windmill winery's website. I toured there and they have a calendar of what they consider peak and off peak. But I found tons o places that don't charge any different too. But maybe that'll give you an idea

September is pretty much peak season everywhere.

In Florida, July, Aug., Sept. are off-peak because it is so hot & humid. Locals (including me) try to take their vacations out of the area then.

Our venue's peak seasons are September - November then March to June, but it's an outdoor venue just outside of Phoenix. It really depends on the venue....

September in Arizona is peak, however: the closer you lock down a venue to the date (for a lot of places in the Phoenix area) the more willing the vendor is to get flexible on prices. Boojum Tree was making me some pretty sweet deals because it was within 90 days of the date (we have a small wedding, 20 people). Understandably, some brides may not have as much freedom to play around with the time, so take my advice with a grain of salt Smiley winking

It's still over 100 degrees in September with dust storms. I can't believe that it would be considered "peak" like October or March. But yes it does depend on the venue.

My sister actually got married September 9th here in Phoenix and got the summer discount because it was considered slow season. A few places we looked at actually closed in September for a week for upkeep things so I would definitely lean towards September being more on the slower side. Once it cools down here in Phoenix is when wedding season starts to peak again.

Another good indication is go to a travel website like expedia and see how much hotel prices diff at various dates. For example in my wedding city (New Orleans) I could've gotten a room at a 4 star hotel this weekend for $89. But on my wedding weekend its $169 and up. Clearly Dec. Is not a prime time to visit New Orleans.
