Paying Friends for Music?

Kaitlin, on February 2, 2018 at 12:21 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hello! I am planning on having MP3 player music for most of the “pre-ceremony” music, with a live band playing two or three songs for processional and the bride walk-in. Then the life band will play one recessional song, and back to mp3 music. I’m planning on having one guitarist/vocalist, another vocalist, and one combo saxophone/violist. The people I’m going to ask to play are close friends from my church, but I don’t want to seem like a cheapskate and not pay them what they’re worth. Any input?

Note: none of them are professional musicians, and I don’t think most of them have ever played for a wedding before.

I’m doing definitely going to pay them, I’m just not sure how much to pay.

Have you tried looking up how much it would cost to hire a professional? If it were me I would look that up and use that as a starting point. Maybe cut it in half then depending on how much it is.
