Party All Night?

Laura, on July 20, 2018 at 7:05 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 41

Evening wedding couples: What time is your reception scheduled to end? Are you partying all night or wrapping up early? Would you go later if it was an option or are you happy with the end time?

Our wedding is 3:30-10pm. That’s including paying for an extra hour. We would love to party longer but can’t afford to add time, so instead we’ve already found the after party bar where we can meet the rest of the party crowd who still want to get down! (And hell yes I’m wearing my wedding gown to the bar!)

I agree this is similar to what my night will look like. We rented our venue for the weekend. So we have no end time. But we have young children that I will break to put to sleep but once we are married we are partying until we can't any more!

Our reception is scheduled to end at 9 pm. Neither one of us has ever enjoyed partying and I'm not a social butterfly. So we will be wrapping up early instead of partying. The guest list is immediate family and friends only which makes our guest list under 30. I expect that most guests will go home after the cake is served right after dinner which is what they have done at other family members weddings. If this happens our reception may end sooner than expected which we are fine with. Our wedding is at our farm so if our guests do go home earlier than expected we can enjoy dancing, more food, more cake, wine and each other's company privately. I'm happy with the end time as I'd much rather enjoy the rest of the night with my husband than party.

Ours ends at 10pm. I don't know if I would go later if I could. I think I would prefer to start earlier. We aren't sure how tired we will be at the end of the night after such an emotional day.

4-10:30 even though we have the venue until 12 lol if we had it later, it would still be 10:30. We’re hosting a brunch the next day & I want to look well rested bc I’m sure we aren’t immediately falling asleep when we return to the hotel.

Our ceremony is at 5:30, with cocktail hour at 6 and reception officially starting at 7. Our wrap up time is 11 and for me that seems like a perfect time to wrap things up.

    Our schedule is:
    ceremony 4-4:45
    cocktail hour 5-6
    introductions/speeches/dances/dinner 6:30-8ish
dancing and partying 8-11:30 or as late as we want. Our venue doesn’t charge for extra time and we can stay as late as we would like we would only have to pay extra for dj

4-10:30pm. It’s a perfect time for us since we are not late night party people: .I’m usually ready to leave weddings by 10pm

We have to be out of venue by 1 am unless we pay for extra hours. We’ll just wrap it up around midnight.

These are my exact times. Have you come up with a day of timeline? I'm kind of having a hard time because the cocktail hour and reception are from 6-11.

Our venue is in a town with a noise ordinance saying we must shut our DJ off at 11 Smiley sad but we're going to make sure to spread the word about what hotel we're staying at downtown so everyone who wants to keep partying can join us at the hotel bar. That's what FH's cousin did recently and it worked out well. We're not super social party people but we want our wedding to be an all out night to remember Smiley smile
