Parsley, PowerBall, and the Period (Aunt Flo Defenders Unite!)

mrsaj2b, on May 22, 2013 at 11:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

Can you tell me how I was able to choose my wedding date almost two years in advance and have that same day be the predicted day that my period starts during my wedding month?! Unbelievable.

I wish to heck I could harness that uncanny ability and be able to choose the numbers for the Powerball. UGH!

So I have seen the Parsley post about steeping it for tea and causing your period to come early thereby effectively denying Aunt Flo from becoming a guest at the wedding and HM.

My question is who has tried this or knows someone who did this and had success? If you did it exactly when are you supposed to drink the tea and how long after drinking it does Aunt Flo come knocking?

P.S. My backup plan is seeing my friend/y OB/GYN and getting a temporary prescrip for BC pills. However, I really would like to avoid taking BC pills if at all possible.

I never heard of that one, but mine is so whacked out that it is nearly impossible to anticipate what it will do next. I was tracking with an app to help approximate it, and it looked like it might end the day before the wedding. Well, this month after the visit, one week later I started spotting, another week and she was back. So I don't know what's up.

But as far as BC pills, just so you know, it took me 3 months worth a couple of years ago to change things up. So plan to start them 3 months out to make that work if that is the route you go.

@Misty - Unpredictability like that would drive me crazy! I was on BC for many years. What I would do is take the active pills continuously to prevent my period from starting. It will take me two months to change up my cycle for the wedding month. So I will need to get the prescrip for June and July which is the backup plan if this parsley thing doesn't work. LOL!

Have not heard of the Parsley tea ... but I have heard and observed the fact that taking vitamin B complex (specifically the B6) will delay ovulation and therefore your period by a few days. And it works pretty quickly too. Take as prescribed on the bottle.
