Parking Pass??

Jessica, on August 18, 2014 at 10:43 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

I am getting married in 10 weeks at a local State Park....I will be sending my invitations in 2 weeks, but I have run into a little issue. Just like at all State Parks you have a pay box at the entry, some with and some without an attendant. The Park we are getting married at does not have any attendants, just a box requesting $2.00 per vehicle. We were told that our guest do not have to pay this $2.00 because it is already included in our price. They will not allow us to put signs on the pay box, stating that Wedding Guest do not have to pay and I did not include anything on my invitations. Would it be tacky to print out a Parking Pass and send with all of our invitations? If so, where do I put the pass within the envelope or does it matter?

I dont see why you couldn't print one out, I'm assuming these are mock parking passes that you are creating and not ones issued by the Park, correct? Or you could have small business cards printed on Vista Print that explains to your guest that their parking fee has already been provided for by the bride and groom, and payment at the the box near the entrance is not needed.

We are getting married at a state park and have to pay $5/car and prepay for passes that day and have someone to hand them out until 15 minutes before the ceremony.

I think you can you include a little card that takes care of it, I don't think it matters where in the envelope it goes.

Maltese...thank you so much. I love the wording of "Parking Fee has already been provided by the bride and groom, and payment at the box is not needed".

Becky...WOW...that's a lot of money per car. Thanks for the help.

I like maltese's idea. We are ok with the $5/car because it only cost $75 to rent the picnic shelter, and we're doing a dessert only reception, so we are looking at that $5/car as part of our "venue" in the budget.

Oh how cool...love the idea of dessert only reception.

We have rented out The Lodge onsite of our local Park and will be doing our wedding upstairs and a full sit down dinner reception downstairs for about 65 people. Smiley smile

I printed out lodging info on vistaprint business cards (they didn't look like business cards when done with them)...and they were a great insert (and fast to get) into the invite. Maybe that would be a quick option. I think we paid like $17.73 (including shipping) Color both sides...quality paper.

I have nothing to add other than I wish I would have thought to send passes or a card WITH the invitations. We didn't get parking figured out until a few weeks before the wedding and invites had already gone out. I sent emails to our guests that someone would be there to hand out passes but some still missed that and ended up paying. It was only $3 but I still felt kinda bad.
