Park entrance is free invitiation wording

Monica, on November 7, 2017 at 8:51 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

I had my initiations all set to order last week, but then I was reminded that I should probably put something on my invites about our park entrance being provided (usually it's a park that you have to pay to get into but we have already paid for all our guests), all our guests have to do is say they are going to our wedding to get in, but I definitely don't want them to accidently pay 10$ when it's free.

How should I word that park entrance is provided on the invitation? It's on our website too but not everyone will visit the website, I was thinking of putting it under the address for the park.

"Entrance to the park is provided"

"Park entrance is provided"

other ideas?

My wording just doesn't feel right.

The invite has an overall informal feel but I just want it to be grammatically correct

    Complimentary park entrance for guests?

I'm sending out a card closer to the wedding date to those who RSVP'd to give to the attendant at the entrance. Maybe it's overkill. But to be frank, I don't want to pay for the card stock printing at Minted.

When you say you are printing them on your invitation, do you mean the direction cards or the actual invitation?

I would include a details card with the information regarding park entrance being covered. I think Kate's wording is great.

If you can't do what Kate suggested, can you send an email closer to your wedding to explain or have some sign at the gate?

The ceremony and reception are at the same location so I was planning not to do an insert card, I would rather put it on my invite since I have plenty of room in the address area

Not a bad idea, I'll see if I can find a simple plain one on vistaprint

I like Kate's idea with a separate details card, maybe put directions and the entrance tid bit.

How does this sound? It's pretty easy to get to the ceremony since the park only has one road but the people at the gate will also say "follow the road straight back until you see the large wooden reception building" or something like that

"Entrance to the park is provided for wedding guests.

Upon arrival, please inform the gate attendant that you are attending the Monica/monica wedding in order to avoid an entrance fee.

Park attendants will also be able to provide directions to the ceremony location."

Don't put it on the invite - I would either put it on a small business card in the invite or spread the word via word of mouth. Are you having a large guest list? Our wedding was at an Arboretum, free entrance for guests and we were able to spread the word as we only had 42 people. Look at it this way: People will be pleasantly surprised when they are waived in, as I am sure they will say they are there for a wedding.

We have the same deal at our venue. They usually charge $10, but we will be covering it.

We're including an insert card with a bunch of other notes and will be noting it there, along the lines of "please mention the FutureVC wedding to the gate attendant to park for free".

Don't put a sign at the gate unless you want everyone visiting the park to be putting it on your tab!

I would definitely do an insert card with info about getting into the park. I think just stating that the entrance fee is complimentary isn't enough info. Your guests would get to the gate and not know they need to tell the gatekeeper that they're there for your wedding in order to get in for free.

Our ceremony and reception took place at the same venue, and we also included a details card that gave guests a few pieces of info we wanted to highlight as well as the link to our website.

Are you doing a directions insert? You can put it on there.
