Parent's Gifts

Meghan, on September 25, 2019 at 11:31 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

Looking for gift ideas for my parents. My wedding is October 5th, so I don't have a lot of time. And I am sure this has been discussed 1,000 times, so sorry about that.

Also, when is the best time to give them the gift? Wedding morning? Rehearsal dinner?

I'm still thinking on gift ideas, but I plan on giving them their gifts the morning of the wedding

I gave it to mine at rehearsal dinner along with gifts to everyone else. We got our dads limited edition versions of their fave alcohol. And the moms necklaces.

    Hey date twin!!!
My mom is essentially getting a BM gift from me, since every time I said "I'm gonna get this for my girls" she made that face that tells me "that sounds cool, I'd love that myself even" or even said "oooo I like that..." (we have that kind of relationship that I love when she tells me what she'd like as a gift.... the woman is hard to shop for & if this sounds fun & good to her I'm down for it)
My FH hasn't said what he's doing for her but he wanted to possibly do his own gift for her as he feels really close to my mom & loves her dearly
For his mom, we just got her a simple necklace we think she will love. Fh isn't close to her, but since its not a bad relationship we still wanted to do something.

As for when, when I asked before the popular answer was at the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner. Since my mom's gift from me is like my bridesmaids' gifts, I'll give that to her when I give them theirs, which will probably be after the dinner so its more private with just us. As for his mom's gift, we will just be going over to her house probably some time next week, I don't believe she will be at either the rehearsal or the dinner, so I'd rather not scramble to give it to her since our rehearsal is the night before the wedding

I am doing the gifts at the rehearsal dinner!

For some reason his parents were the hardest to shop for. We decided on an engraved cutting board, there are lots on Etsy with free shipping so I think they would get here in time! They’re beautiful!

We did wedding albums for our parents after the wedding. If we didn’t do that we probably would’ve given them a gift card of some sort. But there are a lot of engraved or personalized ideas on Etsy if that is something your family would like.

We bought them a gift card for a nice steakhouse dinner and gave it to them at the rehearsal dinner.

My FH and I are giving the parent gift at the rehearsal dinner. We got all 4 sets personalized picture frames for the pictures with us. Smiley smile I got them on Etsy and they were quick and are lovely.

I think we are going to do the photo album idea. How did you (or did you even?) let them know their gift was coming later?

We didn’t let them know, just had the photo album sent to their house when it was done. I don’t think they expected gifts the day of the wedding.
