Parents' Full Names on Invitation, Along with 'together With'

Jaclyn, on September 7, 2021 at 12:13 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

So, I've been searching the internet like crazy trying to find an answer to this and nothing is coming up! Has anyone ever written invitations like: Together with Mr. and Mrs. (Brides Parents' Names) and Mr. and Mrs. (Groom's Parents Names) Bride & Groom request the honor of your presence..., etc." I originally had just "Together with their families," but my future mother-in-law mentioned wanting her name on the invite. We're all contributing to the wedding, so I didn't want to put "Mr. and Mrs. (Brides Parents' Names) and Mr. and Mrs. (Groom's Parents Names) request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their children." I figured "together with" and adding our parents' names before ours would be sufficient.

Has anyone ever sent out invites that are written this way? Thanks!!

Typically if parents’ names are listed, then it goes:

    Bride’s parentsandGroom’s parents
Request the honor of your presence at the marriage ofBrideandGroom
Time (spelled out in long hand)Date (spelled out in long hand)Venue nameVenue address (zip code omitted)

I did what you originally had - 'together with their families'.

If they want their names, I know it's a bit of a mouthful, but why not put,

"together with their parents Bob and Sally Smith and Gomez and Morticia Adams, Bob Smith Jr and Wednesday Adams cordially request..."

My FH and I are going to do this. We wanted the standard "together with their families," but for some reason his parents insisted on having their full names on it.

Are you doing it the way I wrote or the way Rosie wrote above, adding “parents”? Thanks!!

We're just doing "Together with" and then everyone's names. I felt iffy about including words like parents or children.

Hi! We are in the same dilemma. How did you end up wording yours? Also, how did you punctuate? Not sure if I need a comma after “parents” and after the groom’s parents names!
