Parent gifts

Maggie, on August 16, 2019 at 8:56 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
Hey all! So, both my parents and my FH’s parents have put a lot of time and money into our wedding and have been incredibly supportive through this whole process. What is everyone getting for their parent gifts? Are you breaking it up between each person gets their in laws something or their parents something or is it each parent receives something from the couple as a whole? How much is usually spent?

We are doing a dinner gift card for his and my parents. I will Be writing a personalized note to his dad and he will write to my parents. We will probably do 50-100 to pay for a nice night out to dinner.

I am going per person, but also, one double frame of me and my dad when I was little & spot for wedding pix, and one of my mom and I when I was little w/spot for wedding pix.
Not sure how to do one for stepmom and I tho. Don’t have many pix of us, and she came into my life as an adult.

We’re paying for a small weekend trip for my parents. Since my FH father and stepmother are divorced and neither of contributing to the wedding, just a thank you card.

Daughter and SIL bought us all small gifts, but they each also wrote each of us a handwritten note thanking us for our love and support (both tangible and intangible). Each note was very much personalized. SIL thanked me for always making him feel like he's been part of the family throughout their long relationship. I cried when I read their notes and they will always be among my most treasured possessions. Smiley heart

Once our photos come back we'll be making our parents Shutterfly books. We're going to make it so each book emphasizes the respective families.
