Parent dance with step-parent?

Lauren, on May 19, 2019 at 8:08 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
I am recently married and planning a reception later this year.
We are talking about dances (I didnt think we would do any special dances, honestly) but now we are talking about doing them.

Problem is, we have 5 parents between us. I have my parents, he has his mom (no spouse) and also has his dad and step-mom.

What would be a good way to incorporate all of the parents without the dances lasting too long?

    Hey Lauren!

When it comes to special dances, there is no right or wrong answer for how it should be done. You could have two dances, a father-daughter dance for you and a mother-son dance for your husband? Although, this would mean leaving 3 out of 5 parents out of the equation. Are you trying to incorporate a dance for all 5 parents?

My dad has passed so we are skipping the bride/father dance. FI mom is set on the mother son dance so we will do that.

The plan to get my step-dad into the dances without doing the father/daughter one is to have the parents come dance with us half way through our first dance.
