Paperless Wedding Invitations? Green Envelope vs Paperless Post?

Antoinette, on February 4, 2018 at 10:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

So we're opting to do paperless wedding invitations because everyone is so tech savvy nowadays. I also found myself relying on my friends wedding websites because I've misplaced their invites or thought I threw them away. It saves us a little money and time.

Anyways, is anyone going the same route? If so, which website are you using? I was going with Paperless Post but when I decided to buy "coins," it was almost the same price as Green Envelope which looks more user-friendly and appealing as well. Your thoughts?

The pricing varies..Paperless Post sells their invites by pricing them with “coins.” So like the invite I designed costs me 5 coins each to send to each email. For the amount of invites I want to send, it’s going to cost me about 360 coins. I have to buy 400 which is $50. GreenEnvelope is going to cost me about $79 for the amount of people I want to send it to (it sets it for 80..I have about 68 emails I need to send an invite to).

I'm also planning on doing e-invites and am leaning toward Greenvelope. The interface for tracking RSVP's seems better to me, plus I liked their designs a smidge more. That being said, we may go with Appy Couple for our wedding website and invites in a matching template are also available through the site.

Nice! I think I’m liking GreenEnvelope more too (even though I was pretty much ready to press send on Paperless!) but we’ll see. So far after reading reviews GreenEnvelope>Paperless. We’re just using TheKnot’s free website as our website.

I’m watching their “training videos” right now and it’s so helpful. I felt lost on Paperless..guess I’m starting over!

I used paperless post for save the dates for free. I removed the envelope which removes a coin. I also removed the colored background and another coin was removed. There’s ways to make it totally free or lower cost. Honestly no one needs a virtual envelope so delete that.

Forgot, you can filter by free invites too. I’m making one for some guests overseas.

I thought about doing this! However, there's a good chunk of people that I just couldn't count on understanding einvites or even checking their email. I think they're a great idea, just not for every generation yet.

Thankfully almost everyone I know is tech savvy and for the older adults who are coming, I sent it to their adult children. So far the only confusion I’m having is when they’re not clicking on “bring a guest” when it has been addressed to a couple. On Greenvelope, it costs per person so I had to send them out addressed to the couple and gave them a plus one or more if it was a family. Unfortunately if you add all names originally, they charge per name. But I’m able to fix it and clarify with my guests which isn’t too bad. So far so good! And they love it!

I did the same thing. I was actually looking for a good wedding photo editor for my save the date and didn't need the envelope and background. My whole wedding is overseas so invitations are my nightmare. I was going to send the save the date photo to walmart photocentre and get a local perosn to print. But then I found paperpost and have been looking into paperless for the whole ceremony.

I went with Paperless. Didn’t try Green envelope. There’s a way on Paperless to make it totally free (similar to what jerzgrlnmd said). And honestly no one missed the things that cost extra, like the envelope or colored background. Everyone thought the save the date was super cute. paperless also lets you track who’s opened the email/if someone’s email bounced. Would recommend.

I love paperless! I’m planning to use them for our Save The Dates. I love that STDs help guests keep our date in mind - this way, we don’t need to spend a fortune to do so. But, we do plan to send out printed invitations later.
