Paper tissue flowers

Maggie, on January 17, 2013 at 8:50 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 17

Has anyone tried paper tissue flower bouquets? They are so cute... I'm tempted to do this to help cut down on costs.

I'm planning on having all my flowers and decorations made out of paper! I love the look!

If anyone has a great "recipe" to make them, please share! One that's on the easy side, for us not-so-crafty folks. Esty has such great ideas, but how do you make them. Thanks for sharing. I love this paper seafoam color inspiration.

Ok, not related but Samantha Reese, thanks for posting that pic. Looking into purchasing the pin tuck linens and they look absolutely beautiful on that place setting you posted.

Maggie S. Go to PINTEREST, I have seen TONS of how-to's for these. Dont limit yourself to wedding searches though, it can be under: birthdays, DIY (do it yourself)/crafts, etc. Cute idea if you have the time and ability Smiley smile Definitely a money saver!!!

How do these hold up on rainy or humid days?

I used to make these for apartment decor. They're not hard to make at all, but it will take you some time and trial and error. They can look amazing!

MrsC, not well at all. They are also prone to fading if you leave them near a sunny window for a few weeks, and a pain to dust. Good points . . . these are probably not so great for an outdoor wedding.

I have a lot of tutorials saved on my pinterest wedding page http://pinterest.com/imblazian/hitched-pinions/

@Samantha - I plan on doing my main centerpieces with construction paper, which is heavy duty, so it should be able to stand up to heat!

If you're concerned about humidity or wetness, you could do ribbon roses. They are beautiful too! There are tons of different ways to make them too. Just like paper ones, it takes practice and trial and error but keep at it and you will get it! Here's the youtube video I followed to make mine:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NriXH3qMuqk

1- One type of ribbon rose (hot-glued onto some hairpins)

2- Another type of ribbon rose

    3- A ribbon rose bouquet

My only concern would be the colour running onto your dress, if you use tissue paper... i.e. if it gets to hot, or they get wet for some reason.... They look nice, but be careful.
