I did it y'all, I bought an over-skirt from Davids Bridal for $200 making the total cost for my dress a whopping $877 (dress, over-skirt, and petticoat total). I bought my dress last summer and I LOVE the top of it but something about the bottom didn't do it for me. We were going to get married...

I did it y'all, I bought an over-skirt from Davids Bridal for $200 making the total cost for my dress a whopping $877 (dress, over-skirt, and petticoat total).

I bought my dress last summer and I LOVE the top of it but something about the bottom didn't do it for me. We were going to get married outside so I didn't want a train but once plans changed I didn't think my dress was "grand" enough for the church wedding we are now having. (I've also posted about this before asking for opinions and also commenting on others posts about this!)

So the over-skirt came into play! I looked on Etsy and toyed around with the idea for MONTHS before finally saying "to heck with it!" and forgetting about it because I couldn't find one I liked at a decent price. (Who wants to spend extra money, anyhow??) Then one day I was on Instagram and an ad for Davids popped up and low and behold, they now carry two different styles of over-skirts! I took that as a sign and the wheels started turning again. One is this tulle ivory skirt that I bought, and the other is a more horsehair (that's what its called, right?) style. I didn't think the horsehair was my style but the tulle skirt would add a little something to my look.

The best part?? I can take it off to dance and boogie after pictures and everything!

The worst part?? Other than the extra cost, it doesn't have a bustle or a string to hold it on your wrist or anything so it's perfect for the ceremony and photos, but I probably will not be wearing this all night long because I don't want to pay extra to have a bustle added and the train is definitely long enough to be annoying.

Overall, I'm really happy with it. It makes me feel way more bridal and its definitely more-so how I pictured myself looking on my big day! I love love love that I can take it off too!

I'll post pics below! The first pics are of my dress without the skirt, and the other pics are with the skirt on! (Sorry my bedroom lighting is not very glamorous and trying on your dress by yourself isn't an easy task trying to take photos in a little mirror but I did my best and you get the idea!)

Also side note, the dress looks really white in Davids and very ivory at home. I think it's definitely the lighting but it is actually more white than ivory to the naked eye even though its technically called ivory on the tag.

Without over-skirt, loved the top so much but the bottom was lacking for me!

the back is my favorite part of the dress!

Very pretty dress, but I'm not sure that website is super reliable. David's Bridal has very similar styles! A dress that big and pretty probably isn't great quality only costing $100.
