I bought two gowns for the big day. A clean satin ballgown for the ceremony and an appliquéd fit & flare mermaid for the reception. Do I change during cocktail hour after photos? I want to have a grand entrance with the second dress. Photos shouldn’t take long because I don’t have a large family or wedding party. lol I am stressing.

That's totally up to you and what you want that dress change to feel like in that moment. If you want the big dramatic entrance with the dress change than I would do it before you walk into the reception after cocktail hour like you have suggested. I have seen other's who change after the first dance or after the cake cutting. I'm not sure there is a required time for this type of thing though so really whenever you feel like changing is when you should do it.

I guess when you change depends on whether you would like your pictures in the first or the second dress... If you want them wearing your first dress you can just change during cocktail hour after you are done with pictures. Also is it correct that you get married in July 2021? If so, you have a lot of time to decide on the details! I wouldn't stress.

You can change whenever you want. Do you want any formal photos in the second dress or are you fine with mostly candid reception photos wearing it?
