Outdoor wedding - need aisle runner?

Becky, on July 6, 2014 at 3:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

I am so confused! I asked my venue about an aisle runner, they said they don't provide and I can get my own if I like but most brides using this venue just walk on the grass. Then, when I had my first fitting, the lady at the wedding dress store was like "You absolutely need an aisle runner or you will ruin your dress, your train will get grass stains all over it." THEN I just read a post on here where everyone, including someone from a beach venue, said that most of the time it is best not to use an aisle runner for an outdoor wedding because they just get dirty and torn (unless you get a very tough fabric). So, which is it?? I am fine with not using one, but will I ruin my dress?

Your dress bottom will get dirty no matter even if it was an indoor wedding. As long add they don't cut the grass a day or two before you will be fine since it also takes pressure to get the grass stains.

I used to work a lot of outdoor weddings at a golf course and I have never seen anyone put an isle runner outside. The bottom of your dress will get dirty but it can also be cleaned by a professional.

We are also having an outdoor ceremony-no aisle runner for us. I was in another outdoor ceremony, and they used an aisle runner-because the ground was soft, our heels (regular heels, not stilettos or anything) punctured the runner. We ended up having to kick it off after every step, and felt like we were kicking Toliet paper off our shoes. By the time the bride came down, it wascompletely torn up and looked awful.

I think I would pass ground is never even and it gives your girls one more thing to trip over!

Definitely not risking falling on my face after I trip over an uneven aisle runner in the grass.

    No runner for me.

No matter what your dress is going to get dirty anyway.

I would say, no runner because it won't lay flat on grass anyway, so you will wind up tripping.

Thank you everyone! Guess the dress lady doesn't know what she's talking about.

Keep your aisle perfectly straight & secure, with the Original Aisle Runner Stakes.

Aisle Runner Stakes were designed with outdoor weddings in mind, to secure the runner to the grass so you don't have to fear tripping or that your runner will blow away in the breeze.

They can be used on any runner, whether fabric, vinyl, plain or decorated. No longer will you fear tripping, or that your runner will be caught in a breeze. Also, if you want to keep your personalized runner for a keepsake after the wedding, they won't tear the runner.

    A Perfect Aisle, every time!
