What do people favor more for a ceremony on 19 July in Virginia that takes place at 4:00 pm. A. Outdoor at a gazebo, mostly shaded area. B. Indoor in an air conditioned room that has a glass wall allowing the view over the Potomac River. I'm curious what guests would prefer as well as what...

I'm curious what guests would prefer as well as what brides/grooms/ wedding party members would prefer.

First of all, make sure you have wedding insurance. If you're having it outside and happens to rain, or a storm hits, insurance will help cover the losses.

My parents went to a wedding in South Carolina, where the entire affair was outdoors. The bride insisted that "it never rains on that date," but I believe that her parents went and ordered a tent that week anyway, because they weren't so sure.

    Guess what happened?

Yup! It rained! Because they didn't have an option to go indoors, everyone was crowded into that tent. Thankfully they had it, but even with the tent, everyone got soaked! My parents said that their backs were soaked because of the wind whipping against the tent.

If you're going to have your wedding outdoors, make sure you have a contingency plan!

I am in the DMV area. As both a bride and a guest I love the outdoors and a garden wedding is divine to me BUT not in July at 4pm. Too hot, too humid, and too many insects. I'd prefer the a/c room with the pretty view of the river.

INdoor all the way! July is HOT AND HUMID in VA. I was in a wedding in July last summer outside. Ugh it was the worst. No one in the wedding party wanted to even take pictures outside it was so bad. Then in poured down rain the night before and the evening of the ceremony. So it was no fun. Inside is best!!

I live in Fairfax, and as someone who burns easily- and can’t deal w/best and humidity I’d be inclined to do indoor for ceremony & reception.

However, if the ceremony is short and sweet and most is shaded, and or you provide umbrellas & sun block than I think so outside. It can be beautiful, but have a back-up plan for bad weather/too hot weather...

Indoors, no question. It's hot and humid in July and even if it's shaded I truly think ppl will be miserable. I would sweat my a** off and be super uncomfortable. Bugs are a factor. idk, I just think you save a lot a hassle doing it indoors.

I am also a VA bride to be and I know how hot and humid VA is in July. I love the idea of an outdoor wedding, is there a way you can marry in the shade and have the option to move inside if the weather is just too much?

    B. Especially considering which part of Virginia. My wedding is southern VA. It’s humid, sticky, etc. Even by the water. Plus I have seasonal allergies and elderly guests who can’t be outside for too long.

Option B. I've been in Virginia in July and it can be miserably hot. Either way I'm sure it will be beautiful but definitely consider the average July temp.
