Outdoor Pianist/Keyboard?

FutureMrsGray, on September 24, 2016 at 10:31 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

My ceremony will be outdoors in a garden and I have a very particular song I want to walk down the aisle (the instrumental). It has a beautiful opening and I know my guests will recognize it as soon as they hear it. The opening is played by a violin and piano. I've seen violinists at outdoor weddings but never outdoor pianist. Do you all think that would work logistically and aesthetically? Should I just see if the violinist could cover the entire song or get a DJ to just play the instrumental track?

If there are no electric outlets in the area, the musician would need a battery-powered keyboard.

Our wedding ceremony and reception were outdoors, and we had a live band. We had to get a generator for them to plug into. For the ceremony, we had a keyboardist and trumpet player. Keep in mind that a keyboard might not be the only power you'll need for the ceremony -- you may also need a microphone since sound dissipates more easily outside.

I have an uncle who is a pianist by profession and we are trying to have him play our ceremony as well. So I hope it works! I think he would have said no if it couldn't.

What about a violin and a guitar?
