I had an outdoor ceremony and we were told it could rain in March in Napa. It did! Not the week before/after our wedding... on our day and mini-moon. 😑 It’s ok! We chose our venue because of back-up covered spots (we still got married outside, under a patio). Reception was inside so we were fine.

Does your venue have a back-up spot? If not, you may want to price out tents and heaters now... just in case.

I watched the November weather last year in our wedding town, and it was between 80 and 30, completely unpredictable. Here are my plans:
If it’s warm and clear, outdoors.
If it’s warm and rainy, under the outdoor portico.
It’s it’s a little chilly and clear, we’ll have blankets.
If it’s too cold, or chilly and rainy, everyone will just have to sit at their reception tables inside.

I’m hoping to have my wedding outdoors on November 2nd. If not I can do it indoors but I’m hoping it will be warm enough here in New Jersey!

Our wedding was yesterday. The ceremony was supposed to be outside, but it was entirely to hot due to the heat wave that hit (over 100 degrees and humid). We had it inside the ballroom, and they flipped the room to be reception-ready while guests were in the cocktail hour.

I had an outdoor ceremony in the summer and yes although rain was highly unlikely, if that were to happen there is an indoor chapel on the premises too.

I'm having an outdoor ceremony. Our venue has an amazing back up plan and if we weren't getting married in nice weather I would have opted for that instead.

We’re having an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, indoor reception. I asked the venue if they had a backup plan in case of rain (it’s april in NY so we shouldn’t be expecting much else 😂) they will tent off the entire area in case of rain and there will be heaters outside for any chills. Definitely consult with your venue to see if they have a plan b.

We are outdoor in October. If it rains we are doing the ceremony indoor moving to the separate area for cocktail hour while they flip the room. Not ideal soooo it better not rain!

Hey date twin!! We are getting married on Nov 9th as well and having an outdoor ceremony. We are getting married in North Carolina so we are hoping for nice weather in the 70s. If it's chilly we will have outdoor heaters, if it rains the ceremony will take place on the large patio of the venue ( ceremony and reception will be in the same place) and the reception is indoors.
