Outdoor ceremony refreshments?

Stephanie, on March 18, 2014 at 10:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hello Ladies,

So I have been one of those brides that completely put her wedding in the back burner because in the beginning I was too obsessed (Pinterest kept me up all night lol) anyways I need to start getting thing done. I will be having my wedding ceremony outdoors, I know there should be refreshments but which ones? Also should there be any hors d'oeuvres? Immediately after the ceremony we will be heading out to the reception which will have a full course menu but don't want to have my guests all hungry.

We're having small bottles of water and small bottles of Dr. Pepper for guests at the ceremony. No hors d'oeuvres for us. Cocktail hour begins at 5. Meal at 6:30.

We are going to do big tubs of ice with bottled water and sodas by the can for "cocktail hour". We are also going to do 4-5 apps to hold people over until dinner. We are doing BBQ and will have water, iced tea, and lemonade for that, then of course we will have a bar.

Edit: We are going to have a lot of "particular" people at the wedding that will demand food and drink the second they step away from the ceremony...this is why we are having so much food to hold people over lol

Lemonade and water? Nothing too fancy-- maybe water infused with berries or citrus if it's a more fancy wedding

Lol, in my family we have "particular" people as well so I definitely think I need apps especially since the ceremony starts at 5 and dinner won't start until about 7:30 and it's a 20 min drive from the ceremony site which is enough for them to complain about. I was planning on the bottle water and the cans of soda sound good I was going to add some wine or sangria but I also don't want to over complicate things. I keep on adding and getting ideas and my FH says I'm going in over my head.
