We have decided to make the rehearsal dinner + out of towner welcome party all one event. It will basically be everyone who will be at the wedding the following day. I am looking to call this something, other than rehearsal and out of towner cocktail party. Any thoughts?

Welcome party or welcome gathering sound a little less formal if that’s what you’re going for . That’s what I would do!
