Out of state fiance?

How about out of country fiance? My FH has lived in Japan for the past three years and I live in Chicago. I won't see him again until 4 days before our wedding when we both fly to CA. It's been a challenge, but he is totally worth it.

I'm in Ohio & he is in Michigan not to far from me but were looking for a place to move in together, no luck yet :[

I live out of country. He's in AZ (where I'm from) and I currently live in Canada. We've spent the last two years over 2,000 mi apart.

Where are yous going to live once you get married?

Only for the summer, but we won't see each other at all until August He's in TN and I'm in MI. It's yuck.

Lucky! ya mine is in Venezuela, I'm in the US..he'll be coming prob beginning of August! after 7 years we're pretty used to it! I think it just depends on the couple, and I feel like it's harder if you are used to being together then have to be apart for an extended period.

Wow that is not bad for distance. My husband was in middle east, seven months of our engagement AND when we were dating/engaged, he was living in VA and I was living in WA. It was so worth the wait!

Oh yea we couldn't skype for 7 months when he was in deployment in middle east, it was so hard.

@Mrs Cupcake: i don't know how you handled it. you must be so strong!

I am in Missouri and he is in Virginia. We will be living apart for about 2 years after the wedding. We have been through deployments as well (mine and his).

Kathleen, I won't lie. It was KILLING me so much, I couldn't even see what he look like, it is a rule to not send me pictures of himself during deployment until he goes home. I wanted him to break the rule LOL. It helps a LOT when I look at my engagement ring and look at pictures of us every single day, I would say almost there then he is mine forever. Lot of support from loved ones also help and being busy.

Are any of yous spending money to travel back & fourth to see each other?

We went from seeing each other 3-4 months to now every month..

I keep telling him we have to save for the wedding but its hard to go so long without seeing eachother

Christina, oh my gosh it was so expensive to fly to Norfolk, VA from Seattle, WA. I would have to spend like $400 to $800 on hotels and airfare and entertainment when he was living on ship.

My husband and I were long distance throughout our relationship and engagment too. Most off the time was on opposite coasts (me in CA and him in NC). We did spend money on traveling back and forth but of course when you're two coasts apart you cant really see each other monthly. But its totally worth it in the end once you're together in the same house!

Amen Lilly Lilly and I was in same shoes. Was long distance from day one in dating lol. We even met our husbands on dating websites lol.

I'm in Louisiana and he's in Texas. He's only 2 hours away, but it's killing me that we're not together!!!! Hopefully that will change real soon (like within the next month or two). I can't take this. I don't know how you guys do it with the super long distance. I guess I really don't have anything to complain about with being 2 hours apart as opposed to being so far away from your FH's as some of you are.

I find it really hard to plan when your both in a different state or like some out of country, things can get very stressful & fast. Me & FH spend alot of time on the phone! lol

Nope, FH & I are in 2 different states too.. but not for much longer! Only a few more days & I'm moving back home

@Christina - Yeah, we do a lot of emailing and talking via skype. Fortunately we've had about 10 months to plan so that makes it easier. We meet up in person when we can manage it. Last time was 2 months ago, the time prior to that was Christmas, and before that it was 9 months between seeing each other. Once we are married (45 days!), I'll be joining him in Japan.

To all you ladies who have men in the military or are in the military yourselves, you have my utmost respect!

Aww thank you Andrea That is why I am so glad I am pregnant while my husband is on shore duty instead sea duty.
