It's actually a really cool site that allows you to post up things you want to buy. Then guests can send money to an account with whatever what they'd like to give you towards a gift. It's nice because you can ask for money for a home down payment or whatever without acutally asking for money. Plus my fiance & I are getting married out of state so we thought it would be easier for guests. It's basically free, except for a charge of a 1% fee for each transaction, which isn't a lot compared to other sites I've found. A lot of honeymoon sites charge around 7%.

I was just concerned because it's not a company based here in the states, but in Australia. Not that that would matter, I just wanted to see if others had used it. It seems legitimate and I've asked people on other boards who have had very good luck with it. Check it out! I think I might try it out.

Yes, it's great!!! I just established an account! Ours is a honeymoon registry.

I have read the testimonies, looks pretty legit! 1% isn't that bad, I've compared around, it's true, other sites do charge around 7%.

Thanks, for posting that discussion! Helped a lot!

We used it and were very happy ... it suited us well because we had already been living together and didn't want people to waste money on silly items we already had ... our guests liked it too bewcause we got them to contribute twoards special honeymoon experiences like nice dinners and day-trips etc, so really happy all round.

Rip-off. I felt completely scammed. Read the fine print. After credit card processing fees, processing fees, and withdrawl fees I think we wasted over $150 to these jokers. vs a return of 593.00. Great scam!

Serious Rip-off. I have to say that initially I was very excited about ourwishingwell.com. It made it easy to have our guests give us gifts, and transactions were secure.

As my time on the site comes to a close, I'm quite disappointed. I definitely do not recommend it! The main reason is that the fees are ASTRONOMICALLY high. For each gift we received, 8% was taken from the gift (5% from the site and 3% from the credit card company.) Then when we went to withdraw funds, another 5% was taken out of our total amount. This brings the total to 13% FEES. If my wedding guests had known that only $87 of every $100 that they gave us was going to go to us, they would not have used the site to give us a gift, and would have just given cash. In fact, I'm embarassed to share with them, that I made such a poor financial decision as to use the site.

This thread is so old but I want to share my experience as I have recently used this registry. OurWishingWell.com had offered me an ideal way to communicate my wishes with the guests and even make monetary contributions in a safe and secure manner. We used it for our wedding event successfully, and all our guests simply loved it. My whole experience was awesome with this.

My friend used Our Wishing Well site for his son’s birthday. He was so pleased and satisfied with the results, that he insisted me to use the same for setting up a birthday registry for my wife. Each and every guest expressed his/her pleasure and satisfaction as the online birthday registry made it really easy and hassle-free to select gifts that my husband really wanted to have. I recommended Our Wishing Well to all my friends and family these days, whenever I get the chance to

My sister and I opted for Our Wishing Well to create a wedding gift registry for our cousin. We were more than satisfied by the outcome. Though many of our friends lived in other parts of the country, giving gifts was made easy and less time consuming from them with the help of this wedding gift registry. Our loved ones did not have to worry about courier and packaging, and everyone was happy to find something or the other within his/her budget. Most importantly, our cousin got gifts at her wedding that she had always wanted and craved for. Many thanks to Our Wishing Well!

After every birthday or anniversary or pretty much any event, I was tired of returning/changing loads of unwanted/duplicate items that we got as gifts. I finally broke free of the shackles when I used the online gift registry of Our Wishing Well. I was able to set it up within minutes from the comfort of my own home and shared our wish list with our invitees to ensure that no duplicates/useless gifts were sent our way. My wife and me – both were very happy and satisfied with the entire experience
