Our love story

So our wedding is very untraditional and we are trying to incorporate as many things as we love as possible. So I was thinking of typing up a few paragraphs explaining how each of the item we’ve incorporated represents us. Like it’s on the beach which is our favorite place. We having a taco bar for appetizers Because that’s our families favorite food and we could eat it 8 days a week 🤣 etc. there’s definitly a lot. Would that be tacky?

So I did a fun facts page behind these menus I printed at the reception. If you have a program at the ceremony, you could add that on there.

Yes! That’s what I was thinking of doing, something similar. We’re not having menus or programs so I thought about just ordering a couple. Or making them myself and have them here and there.

My sister did something similar! It was more that she placed one at each of their tables as the center-piece! She did a 500 Days of Summer theme (it’s a good movie!). She did the really important dates and different events in her and her FH life up to that point. Guests found some of the centerpieces funny and romantic and it encouraged them to walk around to each other’s tables to check out some of the dates they had! Each was type written and put into a picture frame along with something from that date (ex. They went to LEGO land, so they wrote about it then put legos and other things around the frame as the centerpiece. This could be a good idea!

I always enjoy reading "fun facts" about the couple getting married. Not everyone is into reading things at a wedding, so I don't think it's necessary to have a copy for every person- but perhaps sprinkle 3-5 at a table so those who are interested can read them and pass them along. Perhaps it would feel a little more wedding-like if you printed them on 5x7 stock paper with nice fonts, rather than throwing some printer paper on the tables. I found that these are also a great conversation starter for guests when they are sitting with people they don't know. We are creating mad libs for the tables instead. We were thinking about doing the fun facts, though. Great idea! (Also- love the taco bar idea! We are doing that too!)

I love the mad lib idea! Do y’all have a template? Or just creating your own?

That’s really cute! Unfortunately, we haven’t done many adventurous things, yet! But have big plans for the future!

Here are some fun free templates that I've seen for wedding mad libs...

We are using them more as examples and creating our own with a few varieties; How We Met, First Date, Proposal, etc.... We're going to put a few on the tables along with pencils and hopefully our friends will be able to share some fun and laughter over them.

I don't think it would be tacky but I do think that people might get bored of reading everything. I see some have already mentioned a fun facts page, maybe at the reception or with your STD's or invitations. Or maybe even print out a sort of newspaper with photos supporting each item and the story behind everything as favors.

Yeah! I thought about just making a sign and printing it out so as people walk around they can stop and read it if they want!

That would work as well. It's a super cute idea either way.
