FH and I really wanted to do converse for the men, but his parents reacted extremely negatively. Apparently, in Venezuela, only the poor working class and uniformed school children wear converse shoes so his dad said something like, "if you make me wear those I won't come to your wedding" and his mom said "I will give you a kidney, but I will never wear those shoes."

We were stunned, FH because he left Venezuela when he was too young to care about those sort of things... and Me because here in Northern America, converse can run upwards of $50-80 depending on the style, so definitely not the "poor workers" shoe at all.

In fact, my dad loves them and has worn them ever since high school because he played basketball and All-Stars used to be the shoe every high school and college basketball player wore to be "in."

It's amazing how something as simple as a shoe brand can be viewed in different cultures. Sad we can't do it, but I bet your pics will be awesome!

love this 1st let me say I love your colors green is my favorite colors. I am wearing converse my whole ceremony because i am having ankle surgery in July and won't be able to wear heels for at least a year so i am rocking some like these but in blue for my something blue.

That's awesome, I wouldn't have it but it is so cool ... If I'm wearing 3.5 inch heels all dang day and night, the guys can wear dress shoes ... LOL

My friend was the MOH in a wedding and all the BP wore chucks, it was cute!

The grooms name was chuck too!

@raptor were shoe twins!! My whole BP is wearing chucks. I got myself the silver sparkly ones and my girls have the black sparkly ones. The guys will be in the classic black.
