We had our wedding on the 18th of May in a German castle. The weather forecast kept saying rain/shower/or even thunderstorm until 2 days before the date, and we ended up having the best weather of this year so far.
A number of small and big things didn't go according to plan: my family, which had to travel overseas to come, had the airline lose their luggage, luckily it was found in time; my dress was slightly too big and altered just a few days before the wedding; I had no time to try it on until the day and of course it was too small; we were running 30 minutes late due to my husband's wish to also have make-up on...the DJ used wrong version of file to prepare his music list and missed the song my husband was going to sing for me as a surprise; I couldn't memorize my vows due to nerves; the caterer messed up ALL our sous vide fillets and didn't tell us until 5 minutes before main course was supposed to be served; the first dance probably was not our best performance ever; the venue signed wrong terms with the expensive bus we hired, so we ended up having to frantically get all the taxis available to take people back to the hotel (the venue being a remote castle didn't make it easier); and I almost lost my ring...
But, the day was still perfect nevertheless. All the bridal party, our families, friends and guests were more than wonderful, and I feel so blessed to have shared the day with them.
We don't have the professional photos back; the guests have been sharing photos though. Looking at those just make me very happy all over again; there were so many details that I didn't get to see as the bride, and it is nice to revisit the day from guests' perspective.
