Our Covid Invite Insert Wording

Emily, on May 24, 2020 at 10:57 AM Posted in Community Conversations 2 8
Just posting in case others are looking for some wording or if you'd like to also share yours. I adapted from a website to fit our needs, and we plan to add everyone with a "yes" RSVP into a Facebook event to keep in contact. We can advise through there on postponing, wearing masks, testing, etc. Good luck, everyone!

"As we all adapt to an uncertain time with COVID-19, we are monitoring the news carefully. We are prepared to take every precaution necessary to make our wedding safe for our guests, even if that means postponing it.
At this point, we are hoping to continue with the wedding on September 12th as planned. Please RSVP and book your accommodations as you normally would, but check first for a lenient cancellation policy, which most hotels and airlines are happy to provide in light of current events. That being said, the safety of our guests is our utmost priority. If you are at-risk or feel at all uncomfortable attending, please RSVP “No”. We understand and will look forward to seeing you in safer times!
Please check our website (see invite) for updates. We will also be sending guests who RSVP “Yes” an invite to a Facebook group to keep them updated as we get closer. Thank you for your love, patience, and concern."

We did it a little differently, but your idea is great! So far our website hasn’t had a lot of traffic even though it was on the Save the Date magnet.

To be proactive, I put this on the back of our “more details” card in the invite: “Given the current circumstances, please provide Your email with us so we may contact you with any wedding updates!” - I did NOT want the words covid-19 or coronavirus anywhere on my invites!
So far all response cards have come back in favor of attending and with an email address. This will also help us should our menu change (we never got to have our tasting 😢).

We've had a decent amount of website traffic, but I didn't feel like contacting individually for the type of announcements we may have "hey guys wear a mask or don't come" lol

That sucks on your tasting! Hopefully you were able to get an idea initially when you selected them? Hope it turns out well for yall
