Other’s 8-month engagement timeline?

Same, on September 29, 2018 at 9:37 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
We’ve been engaged for two weeks and have booked or venue. Most of the time lines I’ve seen are 12-18 months for an engagement which seems terribly long, but we also want May so we’re jumping on it.

Does anyonenhave any advice for planning/timelines on when to have hints completed for a 7-8 month engagement? I’m working mostly full time, go to school, just moved my grandparents into a retirement community... the stress level is running high already and I need to best schedule my time.

Thank you!!

I did mine in 9 months and I'm getting married in two weeks now. The best advice I can give is to make timeline goals. Don't do everything at once. I'm in school too, and I have a toddler haha. I know it can be stressful, but it can certainly be done!

You should be fine! Once you book all your vendors, there’s not much to do until a few months before anyway. I’d say just focus on booking everything (that will be the hardest part because many will already be booked for May), getting your dress, and having your wedding party order their attire. Also send your Save The Dates (if you’re doing them) ASAP. Then you should be on track with the normal timeline!

I started my wedding planning for my wedding in 8 months. I got engaged in febuary this year and didnt make decisions until june. My venue was an all inclusive venue that helped us out on making decisions for the wedding that is happening in march of 2019. Then looked for photography and videographer. My Fh and i met with a wonderful group of guys and signed the contract. Then we met with hair and make up and found a wonderful company. We then moved onto the cake and desserts. And somewhere in between i got my dress with my mom and he got his suite. I know it sounds like a lot but take your time and do the research that you want for your big day. :]

7-8 months is totally reasonable and doable. I did it with 100 things on my plate including moving iut our state the wk after our wedding .You just need a timeline like the one on here but you need to move up everything from >8 months to now. Also cut out stuff you dont need on the timeline so it doesnt pop up.

My timeline is 8 months. major things first will take a load off your shoulders. I brought my dress, made the guest list and booked the venue within the first month of my engagement. Just figure your budget out first then your theme and begin researching. I'm three months away now and I've got a few things to straighten out but for the most part everything is ready and decided. I made a google spreadsheet of guestlist and then a regular doc of everything I need to do even the smallest things so I won't forget anything and so I can keep track of everything. It might seem overwhelming at first glance but breaking it up seeing it in small pieces will make it less stressful. Good luck and congratulations on your engagement 😊
