Other dresses i wasn’t a fan of

Kaitlyn, on October 23, 2019 at 3:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
Ladies these are what I mean when I said I hated fit and flare on me, I felt “way fatter” than I really am, I didn’t feel pretty at all 😔 because my butt is too big and my hips are huge. And I’m not a big girl just curvy. Kind of a let down because James said to not get a “poofy” dress. Is A-Line considered poofy by guys? When I think poofy I think of Cinderella gown or a “huge ball gown”. I just want to look beautiful for James (he’s so sweet and deserves a great wedding too) I know he’s going to look really handsome in his dress blues (think Pop-Eye the sailor uniform). Just nervous and I get anxiety over it (one dress I tried on and I hated it and almost had a panic attack so I took it off right away)

I love the two dresses that you posted in your other discussion! A-line is classic and will not be too poofy at all. You have a great figure and I think that style highlights it in the best way.

It's crazy how different certain wedding dress styles and silhouettes make our bodies look. Fit and flare, mermaid, and sheath are some of the hardest to pull off imo.

My dress is technically a fit and flare, but it starts flaring out much higher on the hips than most of them (I originally wanted a-line). I have slight anxiety over the fact that I won't be able to wear any shapewear due to the extremely low back, but my family and the consultant said it'll be fine. Fingers crossed, lol!

It sounds like you are letting your nerves get the best of you. You are going to look great it whatever you choose. I love both of the dresses you posted in the previous post! That being said, the first and last dress in this post also look amazing on you! But your FH is going to love whatever you choose and think you look gorgeous. He loves you and is marrying you for you. So try not to stress too much!

    Haha! I hope so!

I actually felt *short* in the a-lines and ballgowns, which I wasn't expecting. Before we went shopping I was like yep, I want an a-line or ballgown with tulle and lace and no sparkle. Then I tried them on and was like wow, I have never looked this ugly in my life LOL.

I especially love the one you tried on with pockets!

I love dress #1 that you posted in your other discussion.
He won't think of A-line as "poufy". I think poufy to guys is a giant Disney ballgown, like you said. Men are funny.... I have been stewing about the "color" of my dress "ivory/champagne" and I zoomed in on the fabric to show my fiancée in a photo (not of the dress just a LITTLE corner lol) and said "what color is this"? his response "white". ha ha

Guys are weird especially military guys. I think you’re right about Disney gowns. I just want something simple yet elegant and classy but has a little bit of spunk.

I was a similar position as you! My butt and hips are huge compared to the rest of me but i wanted to show off my body for my FH and be a bit sexy for him. But i felt terrible about myself when i was in any fit and flair dress. It just made me feel huge.. and finding the right fit when your top is about a 2 and bottom is about an 8 was like impossible.. I said screw it and went with an a-line dress. I feel so beautiful in it and i know my FH will think the same. Get something sexy to wear in the bedroom after the night is over for him and get you your A-line dress that you feel most beautiful in!

youre going to make a stunning bride!

Your facial expressions say it all! I guarantee you'll find a dress you love! It can take time, but it'll be worth it when you find the one Smiley smile

Naw, A-line isn’t poofy. Most guys think of a giant ballgown. What you feel beautiful in, he’ll love.
