Origami flowers

Deborah, on March 14, 2018 at 5:17 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10
Opinions requested!! I’m thinking of doing origami bouquets for the girls and me. Part of the girls bouquets being a significant song related to our friendship or their own wedding song. Can’t decide which is best, or if I should even origami the crap out of our bouquets. Help!!

I think origami flowers are fabulous, and I’m considering doing at least corsages if not also the bridesmaids’ bouquets. Just be aware that this is going to take you a LONG time. I made a theater backdrop in high school that was a garden full of origami flowers and it took ages to fold all of them. And making origami flowers isn’t necessarily going to be a much cheaper option than real flowers depending on what quality paper you want to use. Certain looks like the pictures I’ve added also require a lot of cutting. Origami can be super fun to do with friends, so if your bridesmaids are crafty, maybe you could get together and do the bouquets? There is also the obvious perk of keeping them forever. Good luck if you decide to go this route!

I think they're pretty but maybe done on different paper? I liked the idea of sheet music. Maybe fold them using the sheen music to the song that is special to you guys?

When I first read your title, my mind immediately thought of the over complicated paper roses I think I saw in a Nifty video and I was like, "nooooo!! You will regret everything!"

But now I see that's not the case 😂

I did paper flowers too! I absolutely love them and my bridesmaids are stoked they get to keep theirs. The style I did made them a little top heavy, but nothing that would be a problem.

Word of advice: if you use wire for the stems, trim the bottom to be even and either hot glue the ends together or wrap an extra 2 layers of ribbon around them so nobody gets stabbed accidentally.

How unique! They look awesome! My brother did this for his wedding but he waited until the week before to get started and he said he couldn’t feel his fingers for days lol so don’t hold off too long if you’re hand doing them yourself! Lol

I love the idea but make sure you leave enough time to do all of them!

Also, if you do use sheet music don't do it within a week or two of your wedding. I had to organize sheet music in HS and college as a PT job and holy cake balls you end up with jet black ink and paper cuts all on your hands!

The inky hands is such a good point! And you’re bound to get a paper cut or two working that much paper.
