Organization

Amber, on December 10, 2019 at 5:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

I am having the hardest time keeping everything organized and on the right track. Is there anything other brides have done to help keep organization and on theme?

I'm not sure what you mean about the theme, but to keep things organized, we used Excel spreadsheets for everything. We had one for our budget and one for our guest list that had columns for invitations sent, RSVPs received, gifts received, thank you's sent, etc.

I was at first and then I started writing everything down in a super awesome wedding planner book that I bought at Michael’s crafts for 20 bucks it was supposed to be 40 but I used a 50% off coupon it has everything you need in it and it helps me so much

I do have a few wedding binders. Smiley smile I have a standard one that you can purchase at the store, i think it is the knot one or WeddingWire's, in that one I have the pictures of our inspirations for our decorations, cake, and any other pictures that I feel like was good to reference to. I also made a separate binder that I have little binder dividers with each payment plan, invoices, contracts of each of our vendors in. I am a little OCD so i do also have them color coordinated. LOL

I used Google sheets to just be able to write down what I've got left to do or to buy and my progress. And definitely when you buy items, put them in boxes of the category. For instance if it's for your guest sign in table then have designated box just for that table

I'm using multiple ways to keep on track- a spreadsheet for budget, guests, gifts; a document for ideas and themes; a task list for each month with each step of things I need to accomplish.

I like everything on my computer so I can access it wherever I am.

That's a great idea! I will have to start some spread sheets. I don't know why I haven't thought about that. I have a binder and I've been keeping notes but it's like it was not doing enough for me.

    Thank you so much

I had a wedding planning book and never used it! I used Excel sheets for budget, guest list RSVPs/meals, and a 3rd for tracking gifts/thank you cards.

For our reception theme & layout, I used PowerPoint.

I made a book with tabs that sectioned off every vendor. Within that vendor tab I put all contracts and notes. I also kept spreadsheets and timelines in there. It was a life saver! My wedding planner even said I was the most organized bride she had ever worked with haha.

I created a wedding email that me and FH both use for Only wedding stuff. We use google docs and google sheets to track the budget, guest list, payment dates, etc. It is very helpful because it helps us both stay up to date on things. I’m also very type A so I copy all of the same information into a binder and have like 100 checklists to use and I make sure I go through those often just to make sure I don’t forget anything. My mom got me a wedding planning book but I don’t use it for the actual planning. I use it for the tips and the reminders that they have in the book. It was $10 and worth it lol

Bought a binder and made lists! I got so many compliments on being such an organized bride and even a job offer, which I declined lol

I really is! Ask your venue to email you a floor plan. It helps so much! We only visited our venue once on a trip where we scouted our 12 venues. We needed a refresher on the size, layout, electrical outlets, etc.

I made a wedding binder. You can also buy them. It helped me stay on track on what I needed to do each month, especially with the little things. If you don’t want a whole binder, definitely make checklists and lots of them. You don’t want to forget anything. Congrats and good luck!
