Organist invited to Rehearsal Dinner?

emsings83, on October 14, 2014 at 2:11 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2

Just wondering if we should invite our organist (and spouse?) to our rehearsal dinner... she is an acquaintance of the family, but we'll be paying her to play for the ceremony. She will not be invited to the reception (since we are paying her), but I feel like she should be invited to the rehearsal dinner since she will be at the rehearsal. Thoughts?

Since my ceremony will be held at a banquet hall, I will be having our DJ take care of the music for that as well as the reception. Since he will need to be at the rehearsal, I am going to extend the offer for him to come join us for rehearsal dinner.

I would include her in the reception unless she is leaving right after the ceremony (to something else). Like our band for the ceremony is going on to another gig. Otherwise I would feed them (and I still might get them a gift cert to the pub in the building). Everyone else that is a vendor that is overlapping with the reception is getting food.

None of our vendors are going to be at the rehearsal so I don't feel that I need to feed them. Smiley smile But if they are hanging out with you it might be a nice gesture to include them.
