Hello, All!
Calling all musicians and organ enthusiasts! I know some other brides may be in the same predicament we're in with our church so I was hoping someone could help us with suggestions on organ music. Our church does not allow anything other than the organ to be played. They gave us a CD with options to choose from and I absolutely HATED IT! There are no recordings, amplified music, outside musicians or soloists allowed. It's the sacrifice we have to make for the use of their beautiful sanctuary. I've played in an orchestra when I was younger and had some pieces in mind but some of the pieces do not transcribe well to the organ. We wanted to avoid stereotypical and matronly organ music, too, so we're avoiding Canon in D and Ode to joy. So far this is what we've gathered that sound halfway decent when played on organ (I added links in case anyone wanted to listen). Can anyone else suggest something beautiful/emotional/romantic that can be played for church ceremony that is also appropriate?
