Opinions on postcard RSVP cards

kirackle, on February 4, 2017 at 7:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

I was inspired by the "what items you could do without" post comments and realized that I do not have to be locked into matching RSVP cards of my invites. I am splurging on minted gold foil invites, though not the double thick paper, because it's the best price compromise instead of hiring a calligrapher for the addresses, which my fmil has pressured for.

I have calculated that I could save $250 getting somewhat similarly designed postcard RSVPs from zazzle. Are postcard RSVPs weird because the guest's information is easily readable? I have never received a postcard one myself. Would this offend anyone? I would skip the paper cards altogether but a majority of our guests are older family members who won't use the website RSVP.

It wouldn't bother me at all but I'm curious what others have to say.

We did postcard rsvps because that's what came with the invitations we both agreed on from magnet street. Did cause confusion with 1 or 2 guests who thought they lost their envelope but other than that's it's been fine.

Not weird since there's no personal info besides their names but keep in mind that those things go through the ringer at the post office and could get damaged that way or if it rains the day they're delivered to the guest or you.

I just received an RSVP card like this for my friends' wedding. To be honest I was confused for a minute, like I thought that they just didn't send a return envelope, and then I realized it was a postcard

It would bug me, to be honest. Even though there isn't personal information, it would still weird me out. I don't like postcards for normal things either. If I recieved one, I would call and rsvp instead of sending it in. Again, that is just me and I may be in the minority here.

We did post cards. Aside from both grandmothers who put theirs in envelopes, it was simple and efficient haha.

Eh I felt weird about it, ordered my invites through Magnet Street and they offer postcard RSVP's but I opted to purchase the little envelopes for them instead to make it more formal.

Ok from this consensus I think I'm going to go with the postcards. Thanks for the input.

We did postcard RSVPs for ours. There doesn't have to be much personal information on them, if they only put their names and don't put a return address. They definitely get banged up and look like crap when you get them back, haha, but we didn't mind Smiley smile An easy way to save a little with envelopes and postage.

We did postcard RSVP. The postage is cheaper. You will not need to buy special envelopes for the cards.

We did postcards, and it is working beautifully! I feel better not having envelopes to discard when they arrive. Guests have loved them too, and most have scribbled little notes on them like they would if they were mailing one from on vacation. Smiley smile

My friend did this for her wedding and, as a guest, I didn't think it was weird at all!
