Opinions on No Veil

Shelly, on October 15, 2020 at 9:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

I'm not into the look of veils, and don't see the point of spending money on one.

Any other brides not wearing a veil or didn't wear one on their wedding day?

I did not wear a veil! No regrets. Made the day easier cause I didn't have to worry about pinning it in and removing it without messing up hair.

Perfect! That's a big thing for me, I'm all about comfort and as less stress as possible!

I've seen more brides without veils than with them. Do what works for you. I don't plan to wear one at all.

It's just not my style, so I think I'm going to stick to my guns and not wear one. Thanks everyone!

I think it would be fine, my initial plan was to only wear a headpiece but my mom bought a veil for me.

I’m not a fan of veils either. There are so many other options.

I originally didn't want a veil, but when I picked up my dress from alterations I saw a veil that would go absolutely perfect with it and my pearl jewelry and I HAD to get it! It looks gorgeous and I'm so excited! My point is, try one on just for fun, you never know what you'll feel. Plus when in your life do you get a chance to wear something like that? Smiley smile

I don't think you need a veil. I wore one because I love the veil photos but there was no way I was spending more than $30 on one. It's crazy how much people will spend on a piece of tulle.

Instead of doing a veil, I wore a rhinestone-starred headpiece and then attached a cape veil (white to blue ombre, with silver stars) to my gown instead. Because my gown is long sleeved and sheath, it gave off some medieval, yet modern vibes.

Oh. My. Goodness! That sounds so dreamy!! After all the advice, I think I'm going to not wear one but wear golden flower/leaf pins in my hair!

I was absolutely sure I didn’t want a veil until my consultant at my dress appointment “jacked me up.” I loved it and I figure it’s the one time in my life I will wear one so I’ll wear it down the aisle then go with my headpiece for the reception.

    I wore a veil when I married my ex-husband.

This time around I'm going with no veil, but wearing a crystal and silver headpiece instead...the silver parts are eucalyptus leaves that match my reception decor, the crystals are just something to add a little pop to my head. It attaches underneath my hair via an ivory ribbon which I will cut shorter once it's attached.

I wasn't planning to but the bridal shop gave me mine for free cause they liked my aunt lol.

I didn't go crazy with some long thing and i don't plan to wear it hte whole time cause i want my hair style to show.

For my minimony i am not gonna wear it at all, gonna wear a flower crown.

No veil for me, either. The shop assistant put one on me when I was trying on dresses, but it made me feel like a kid playing dress up rather than a grown woman preparing to get married, haha. Plus I love the back of my dress and don't want to hide it behind a veil!

I didnt want one at first but then I didnt feel “bridal” enough when I tried on my dress since my dress isnt very ballgown-ish or anything. I think if you dont want a veil, you could get a headpiece or hair flowers and that is just as pretty! Also I couldnt get over the fact I would wear the veil during the ceremony and take it off for the reception and that felt like such a waste of money haha

I've just been very anti-veil for my wedding because that's not my style. I have found some golden flower and leaf pins that are beautiful that would tie in with our theme nicely, so I will probably go that route. I will try on a veil during my appointment just because I know my mom will love it. Def. agree with you on the money aspect, I just can't justify it! haha

My mom also wants me to wear one, but it's not my style either. I also don't think it goes with the style of my dress. I'm going to wear some flowers in my hair. My mom wants me to wear a flower crown since I'm not wearing a veil... LOL. No flower crown, mom. My dress is a bit boho, but still... no flower crown. Go with what you want... it's your wedding, and you're the one that needs to be happy with your look Smiley smile
