Opinion on Magnet favors?

Jessica, on April 29, 2011 at 8:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

I'm really stumped on what to do for favors! I thought that doing magnets with our engagment picture on them with our names and wedding date to give out to our guests. I'm not sure though, what does everyone think? If it's a bad idea, what should I do? I need to decide fast Smiley smile

My vote is no. Usually I see save the date magnets with e-photo on them. I think food, candy, chocolate - homemade cookies? is always a good thing.

Yeah, I would lean more towards the edible. Think of your girlfriend...if she were getting married, would you want a (magnet, frame, etc) of them on your (refrigerator, table, etc)? Favors are a way of saying thank you for coming, but not necessarily something a person needs to keep forever.

Our ceremony is going to be outside at this gazebo on the lake, and then we're having our ceremony at a new catering reception hall. It will be indoors and outdoors. The outside will have a big white tent with the chinese lanterns. My napkins are going to be pool blue with a black table cloth(white under that) My BM dresses are pool blue. I guess I don't really have a theme, other than those colors (black and pool)

I like the candy buffets where people can take their own baggy and choose what they want, but that's so expensive. I want something cute, but different at the same time. ughh, idk! thanks ladies, you make a good point! Smiley smile

We are setting up a photo booth for our favor. I agree though, the magnet should be the STD and not a wedding favor.

I agree with and edible favor. How many guests are you having? A candy buffet really isn't that expensive. You can get huge bags of candy at Wal-Mart or if you have a membership to Sam's Club, Costco, or BJ's you can get some at a great price.

We got these wedding favors, they grow flowers out of the heart. I figure the more we have left over the more flowers I can add to my garden Smiley smile and reasonably priced!

We are doing little heart magnets with a "K" (fiancé's last name intial) and the date. Small and affordable yet cute. I got one handmade at a friend's wedding 3 years ago and still use it on my fridge to this day!! I got my wooden hearts very cheap at Michael's, a pack of magnet strips on Amazon, and my MOH is making them with her cricut. $50 total for 160 magnets.

Unless it’s an edible favor don’t waste your money. People aren’t doing to use something your name/picture on it.
