Opinion on Father Daughter Dance for Groom and Daughter

S.ME, on January 10, 2017 at 10:03 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

My dad passed away almost 3 years ago now, so we weren't going to do a father daughter dance... but FH and I have 2 daughters. I was thinking it might be a nice nod to my dad in honor of him to still hold the father daughter dance but have it be for FH and our daughters.

Opinions on if you were guest or just opinions in general - do you think this would be too sad or awkward?

I think it would be nice. Probably won't be a dry eye in the room.

I say do it! I would definitely tear up while watching them dance if I was there. I'm sure it will be beautiful.

Thanks ladies!!! I needed the encouragement and to gain some insight as to how this might be received!

Should we have the DJ say something to give a nod to my dad or let it be a symbolic statement in and of itself?

... and then the task of choosing a song!!! lol

I would have the DJ say something. You could use 'Daddy's Little Girl' by Al Martino. I think that would be beautiful.
